Performance Reviews
‘I have great admiration of Micah Sandt’s performance who plays Cosme McMoon. It was remarkable how he was able to hold a conversation, laugh, whilst playing the piano, at the same time! He plays all the music very well, whether it’s Porter, Mozart, or Bizet, and his acting is first-rate. Compared to the exaggerated character and behaviour of St. Clair, played Christopher Price (who’s acting I am not criticising as St. Clair is meant to be a bad Shakespearean actor), in contract to the shy and reserved McMoon it is actually a far more challenging role. Sandt’s portrayal and comic timing were spot on.’
- Hi Fi Review 2025
‘Equally impressive was Micah Sandt, who played [Florence Jenkins] young piano accompanist. His ability to sing while playing jazz piano with such finesse was simply mesmerizing.’
- SingTao Daily 2025
‘Director Wu Hoi-fai collaborated with the exceptionally talented French-Finnish actor Micah Sandt to breathe life into this captivating memoir. Together, they masterfully transform [Gweilo] into a mesmerising one-person drama.’
- The Standard 2023
‘Micah Sandt stands and takes us on a whirlwind tour through Beethoven’s orchestral music and tragic life… The robust musicality of the orchestra (City Chamber) and guests (Micah Sandt, Yoonie Han) means that everyone will be moved by the continuing power of this extraordinary composer.’
- The Prickle 2021
‘In a one-man performance of remarkable range... Sandt’s charm indeed rivals that of young Martin.’
- Financial Times 2016
‘Sandt delivered a solo performance where he shifted between characters and languages with remarkable agility and competence.’
